OKSOY CLASS

Most of our earlier innovative designs are based on the Surface Effect Ship (SES) air cushion principle, but our engineering capabilities and the composite material technology is just as applicable to more traditional hull forms.

The Royal Norwegian Navy Oksoy class Mine Counter Measure Vessel (MCMV) is an all-composite material vessel, with superior sea keeping capabilities due to the wide, air cushioned hull. This 55 meter, 400 ton SES has a draught of only 3 feet on cushion.

The very small wetted surface reduces mine explosion loads inflicted on the vessel dramatically compared to a traditional displacement hull.
